Member Fitness Challenge
May 4 – 10, 2008

Accumulation of 10, 000 Steps daily is recommended to improve or maintain your health and fitness level. 

Did you know?  Walking burns calories, strengthens muscles and bones, is easy on joints, helps with keeping blood pressure under control, assists with weight loss, reduces the risk of cardio vascular disease, diabetes and more.  It is great for spending time with family and friends, helps you to sleep better, reduces stress and requires only a good pair of shoes. 

Remember to attach your pedometer first thing in the morning because every step counts!

Increasing your steps is easy.  Here are some suggestions:
Take the stairs instead of the elevator
Park a few spots further from the store
Walk to the store, the mailbox or the bank
Walk an extra “lap” around the grocery store
Take a walk with your spouse, child, friend or the dog
Get up and walk to the TV to change the channel
Plan a walking meeting

Group Walks From the Reh-Fit
All walks are about 30 minutes and will be outside, weather permitting.  Please meet in the lobby at the Centre 5 minutes before walking time. 
May 6 at 7:30am
May 7 at Noon
May 8 at 10:00am
