TYPES OF MASSAGE

Relaxation Massage
Promotes a feeling of vitality and well-being, and helps reduce the stresses of life. One of the oldest known medicines, relaxation massage can:

Remedial Massage Finds and treats conditions, bringing about the process of healing. Among other benefits, remedial massage can:

  • increase joint flexibility and range of motion
  • ease the pain of ostoearthritis and fibromyalgia

    What You Need to Know

    Booking your appointment
    • Book your appointment by calling our Reception Desk at 488-8023
    • After your first appointment you may want to book your subsequent appointments directly after your massage with your therapist or at our Reception Desk
    • Arrive Early
    • Please remember to arrive 10 minutes before your massage so that you can fill out any paperwork ahead of time
    • Payment for massage treatment is also due before your session


    What to Wear
    • Wear comfortable underwear or shorts, and women, please wear a brassiere with a back closure
    • You will be covered at all times except for the area being treated


    Assessment
    • A therapeutic massage requires an assessment
    • At the end of the session, the findings and course of treatment will be discussed with you


    Missed or late appointments
    • If you miss an appointment without providing us with a 24-hour cancellation notice, you may be billed
    • If you are late and scheduling does not permit going over the allotted time, full billing will be charged


    Will my insurance cover massage therapy?
    • Many insurance plans accept massage therapy as a form of treatment for injury and stress-related conditions
    • Look into your personal insurance to see if your plan is extended for coverage


    Do I need to be referred by a physician?
    • Although a physician’s referral is not required for massage therapy treatments, many physicians refer patients to this form of treatment during recovery period due to a specific injury.

    OUR MASSAGE THERAPISTS


    Rob Dreger, RMT
    Rob is a Registered Massage Therapist who has practiced in clinical settings throughout Winnipeg. He believes that prevention is the key to a healthy lifestyle. This includes receiving regular massage therapy treatments, following a regular exercise program and healthy diet, and practicing correct posture and breathing. Rob has treated many health issues ranging from tendonitis to arthritis. His rehabilitation treatment practice uses trigger point therapy, active release, and relaxation techniques. Rob will prescribe remedial exercises and stretches to assist in the healing process.

    Sandra La Pointe, RMT
    Sandra is a Registered Massage Therapist and a member of the Association of Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners. Her practice includes deep tissue massage, repetitive stress injuries, low back injuries including sciatica and piriformis syndrome, upper back and head and neck pain, fibromyalgia, joint disfunction such as TMJ syndrome and nervous system dysfunction such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's.
