Reh-Fit Aligns With 2018 Fitness Trends

Every year, the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health & Fitness Journal surveys fitness professionals around the world to find out what the top 20 trends are in the fitness world. It’s exciting to find that, once again, many of our offerings are included in the top 20! Read below to find out what the trends are and how our offerings match up with that trend.

  1. High-intensity interval training – Reh-Fit offers a HIIT group fitness class Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Or if you’re not up to high-intensity we also offer a moderate-intensity interval training class Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  2. Group training – We offer a wide variety of group fitness classes each week, all of which are included with membership. Or if you’re not sure where to start, you can sign up for Group Fitness 101.
  3. Wearable technology – N/A
  4. Body weight training – Many of our group fitness classes and registered fitness programs incorporate body weight training exercises.
  5. Strength training – For those new to strength training, we offer Resistance Training Basics and Strength Training 101. Many of our Yoga, Pilates, and registered fitness programs are also focused on strength training.
  6. Educated, certified, and experienced fitness professionals – All of our health and fitness staff are university-educated fitness professionals to help assist you with your health and wellness needs.
  7. Yoga – We have many yoga classes on our flex program as well as registered classes.
  8. Personal training – Whether you are looking to lose weight, gain strength, manage a chronic condition, improve your sports performance, or simply live a healthier life, our accredited personal trainers will lead you to success.
  9. Fitness programs for older adults – Many of our group fitness classes are suitable for older adults. We also offer registered programs for older adults, such as Chair Pilates and Chair Yoga, and recreational activities suitable for all ages.
  10. Functional fitness – The Centre offers a dedicated space for functional training with a variety of equipment to suit a wide range of fitness needs.
  11. Exercise and weight loss – If you’re looking to lose weight, check out our Healthier Way program or any of the Reh-Fit Performance Programs.
  12. Exercise is Medicine – Last year we introduced a health care provider referral program called Reh-Fit Exercise is Medicine that allows health care providers to prescribe exercise for their patients. This program helps people get started with exercise in a safe, motivating environment.
  13. Group personal training – If you want to exercise in a group, check out our Team Training programs or get a group together and sign up for small group training with one of our personal trainers.
  14. Outdoor activities – N/A
  15. Flexibility and mobility rollers – Check out our Mind/Body programs to improve your flexibility. The Centre offers a selection of rollers to use before or after your workout. Or if you’re not sure how to use the rollers, try out our Precision Stretch program.
  16. Licensure for fitness professionals – All of our specialized health and fitness staff are certified in their field.
  17. Circuit training – We offer circuit-based group fitness classes and always keep a circuit set up on the hardwood floor for self-guided exercise.
  18. Wellness coaching – When new members join the Centre, we offer a coaching session to help them get started and set goals. Many of our programs also offer coaching and support.
  19. Core training – Many of our Pilates classes are focused on building core strength. We also offer Team Core, which is a training program of core-specific exercises.
  20. Sport-specific training – If you’re looking to enhance your performance in a specific sport, you could work with our personal trainers to develop a training program that meets your needs.
