Your annual Health and Fitness Assessment is one of the most valuable benefits of your Reh-Fit membership. It gives you the opportunity to check in on your progress, celebrate your achievements, and make sure your fitness program continues to meet your goals and lifestyle.
Whether you're new to exercise, returning after some time away, or have been working out consistently for years, your assessment provides a clear picture of your current health and fitness. It also gives you the confidence of knowing you're exercising safely, effectively, and in a way that's right for you.
During your one-on-one appointment with a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you'll review your health, complete a series of fitness tests, and discuss the results together. You'll leave with personalized recommendations and a plan to help you get the most from every visit to Reh-Fit.
Here's what you can expect:
1) Health Review
Your appointment begins with a conversation about your health history, current activity level, and any changes since your last assessment. Your heart rate and blood pressure will also be measured to ensure exercise testing is safe and appropriate for you.
2) Body Measurements
Measurements such as height, weight, and waist circumference help establish a baseline and track changes over time. These numbers provide useful information about your overall health and can help monitor your progress.
3) Cardiovascular Fitness
You'll complete either a treadmill or walking assessment to evaluate your cardiovascular fitness. This helps determine how efficiently your heart and lungs are working and provides valuable information for developing the right exercise program for you. Good cardiovascular fitness supports healthy aging, improves energy levels, and helps reduce the risk of chronic disease.
4) Strength and Functional Fitness
You'll complete a variety of simple tests that measure strength, power, balance, and muscular endurance. These assessments help determine how well your muscles support everyday activities such as climbing stairs, lifting groceries, or getting up from a chair. Maintaining muscle strength is one of the best ways to stay active, independent, and confident as you age.
5) Reviewing Your Results
Once your assessment is complete, your Clinical Exercise Physiologist will explain your results in easy-to-understand terms. Together, you'll celebrate your progress, identify areas for improvement, and discuss practical ways to help you reach your goals. If needed, your exercise program can be updated so you continue to challenge yourself safely and effectively.
