A few of our fall programs and workshops include:
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, therapeutic style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, joints, fascia and ligaments in the body through long held postures.
Yin Yoga is offered:
Mondays 7:20 p.m. – 8:20 p.m.
September 19 – October 31 (no class October 10)
November 14 – December 19
Yin Yoga is $60 for a six-week session and is taught by Debbie.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a moving meditation in the form of a series of gentle exercises that create harmony between the mind and body.
Tai Chi is offered:
Wednesdays 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
September 14 – October 26
November 2 – December 21
Tai Chi is $70 for a seven-week session and $80 for an eight-week session and is taught by Kat.
Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair.
Chair Yoga is offered:
Tuesdays 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
September 13 – October 25
November 8 – December 20
Chair Yoga is $70 for a seven-week session and is taught by Leigh.
There will be a demonstration class on Wednesday, August 31 at 1:30 p.m.
Block Therapy
Block Therapy is a method of fascia release that can melt away some of the adhesions, restoring flexibility and reducing pain. The class is done laying on specially designed bamboo blocks that are provided to participants.
Block therapy is offered:
Tuesdays 1:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
October 4 – November 8
Block therapy is $120 for a six-week session and is taught by Cassidy.
Art Therapy Workshop
This one-day workshop is an introduction to art therapy and how to use the arts in an intentional way for healing and wellness. The workshop gives you an opportunity to follow your creativity and find personal meaning in what arises. No artistic ability is required! The focus is not on learning art skills but to use the artistic process to facilitate healing and self-awareness.
Art Therapy is a $30 one-day workshop on Saturday, October 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m and is taught by Tanissa.
21-Day Sugar Cleanse
Packaged convenience foods such as granola bars, canned soups, condiments, breakfast cereals, and protein powders are packed with hidden sugars. The sugar epidemic has put North Americans in a state on chronic pain, anxiety, and obesity, which is not very...convenient! This program will equip you with the knowledge and a plan to execute a 21-day sugar-free challenge.
The 21-Day Sugar Cleanse takes place on Mondays, at 7:00 p.m. from November 7-28. The four-week workshop is $40 and is taught by Dr. Leanne Florence.
Fall Education Series
Reh-Fit's Fall Education Series are back! We are excited to bring back education series this fall with a great lineup of presentations and workshops.
Prostate Cancer Presentation
One in nine men will develop Prostate Cancer. In this presentation you will learn about the function of the prostate, warning signs of prostate cancer, detection of the disease, treatments, and how to reduce the risk posed by the disease.
The Prostate Cancer Presentation is Friday, September 23 at 1:30 p.m. It is included in your Reh-Fit membership and is a one-day session being presented by Joseph Borsa, Chairperson, Manitoba Prostate Cancer Support Group.
Dial Don't Drive
Dial Don't Drive is a Manitoba ACS Network public awareness campaign to reduce delays in seeking medical attention for heart attacks. The presentation will cover topics of why you should Dial Don’t Drive when you have chest pain and success of the current Dial Don’t Drive campaign and how you can participate.
Dial Don't Drive is on Wednesday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. It is included in your Reh-Fit membership and is a one-day session being presented by Dr. Shuangbo Liu.
Fall Prevention
Staying on Your Feet, Taking Steps to Prevent Falls.
Fall Prevention is being held on Wednesday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. It is included in your Reh-Fit membership and is a one-day session being taught by Reh-Fit Fitness Professional, Jen (CEP).
Diabetes Series-Three Part
Part 1: What is Diabetes?
Part 2: Managing Diabetes with Food and Medication
Part 3: How do Exercise and Emotions Affect my Diabetes?
The Three-Part Diabetes Series is offered on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. on November 15, 22, and 29.
It is included in your Reh-Fit membership and is being taught by Reh-fit Nurse, Talia
DTC Consultant Presentation
Nicole and Stephanie will explain the various tax credits that can be used to reduce the amount of taxes payable on your income. If you have any type of impairment or restriction you may be eligible to apply. If you are a caregiver who assists someone with their day-to-day activities, there may be valuable Tax Credits available to you. The Canada Revenue Agency Disability Tax Credit can allow your claim to go back up to ten calendar years for substantial refunds - join us for more information and to find out if you are eligible!
The DTC Presentation is on Friday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. The presentation being held by Nicole Noschese and Stephanie Ettenhoffer and is included in your Reh-Fit membership.
